Zekkereya El-magharbel is an animator, graphic designer, illustrator, trombonist, and improviser from Los Angeles, CA. Although he has many interests, he is most passionate about education and how multidisciplinary approaches to art making can be taught.

 

He has worked professionally as an animator, and has screened his films internationally. Some of the musicians he has worked with as an animator include Lomelda and Jamael Dean.

 

As a musician, he has performed with varied luminaries from Tyshawn Sorey to Solange Knowles, worked with George Lewis, Yvette Janine Jackson, Mazz Swift, Nicole Mitchell, Li Harris, Carole Ione and members of the International Contemporary Ensemble. He is a member of the long-standing Pan Afrikan Peoples Arkestra in which he plays trombone.
